Temperatures Increase and Taste Levels Decrease

If you’re in the northeast like I am, you may have noticed some changes recently, and I’m not talking about the weather (although it is to blame). Yes, it’s getting into the lovely spring weather, which means that men and women alike are ditching their dreary wintery duds for, well, “warm weather clothes”. I use that expression loosely, since what some people consider “warm weather clothes” might also be appropriate for the late night crowd at an adult club.

Woman on the beach

This woman is happy because she is properly dressed for her setting.

Today was a lovely spring day that got into the upper 70s. That’s a nice temperature range that doesn’t warrant wearing a coat, but it’s not exactly so warm that you can get away with booty shorts. Walking around I noticed a group of young men walking around with no shirts on. It’s one thing to maybe, go running or workout with no shirt on, but these guys were wearing jeans and carrying their shirts…with clearly no intention to work out. Similarly I witnessed more than one young woman wearing unnaturally short skirts or shorts. It looked like they should have been on the beach, not a northeastern street.

I just don’t understand why the second the thermometer reaches that 70 mark people’s taste seems to go right out the door. I’m no fashionista, but even I can recognize that there are ways to dress yourself to enjoy the warmth but not look trashy. So I beg of my northeast community, please look at yourself before walking outside on the next 70+ degree day; if you’d fit right in with the beach crowd, you might want to reconsider.
