Lost Revised

I have an interesting follow up to the the last post I made about the Lost finale. I stumbled upon a project called “Lost Revised” (thanks to TVSquad). The guys behind the project shares many of the same opinions I have regarding the sideways world concept and the way the show ultimately ended. He has decided to go back to the beginning of season 6 and systematically edit out the sideways world to create, what he feels, is the way the show should have ended. Here’s a direct quote from the project’s website:

Ultimately, the sideways world was a gimmick. It was a way to give a happy ending to characters who didn’t actually get a happy ending. It was a way to give an emotional sendoff to the series by tugging at our heartstrings, rather than addressing the numerous hanging threads left over by the plot.

At this point, I’m content to let those threads hang. However, I sincerely believe the show would have been better off without ever introducing the sideways world/afterlife in the first place, and the point of this experiment is to prove that. Or at least try to.

Sounds like he took the words right out of my mouth. Even if you didn’t agree with me (or him) the project is definitely worth checking out. It’s going to be interesting to see what the show would’ve been like without that plot device. Here are the links:
